Divide | Ed Sheeran

On Repeat

After Ed Sheeran became a chart topper with his last album X back in 2014, he decided to take a year break. This can be extremely risky for any musician in fear of them being forgotten, but how could be forget our favorite red head? On January 6, 2017 he graced us with two new song releases, Castle on the Hill and Shape of You. Within the first few weeks, Ed received his first Billboard top 100 No.1 spot with Shape of You. He also became the first artist to ever debut two sings songs simultaneously in the Top 10 with his other release, Castle on the Hill.

Can Ed be stopped? Apparently Not! His full album “Divide” released March 3 this year. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to this new album, you are seriously missing out. Divide is complete with 16 new songs in total, including Shape of You and Castle on the Hill. How does is stack up you ask? Let me just talk about a few.

Remember how Thinking out Load became everyone’s favorite love and wedding song? Well, Sheeran has over done himself again with “Perfect.” POPSUGAR UK is calling it the next big wedding song. Here are just a few of the lyrics to give you a taste:

Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I’ll share her home. I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own

Yes we are swooning too! His love songs don’t stop there. “How would you feel” also takes our breath away:

In the summer, as the lilacs bloom
Love flows deeper than the river
Every moment that I spend with you

Besides these, the album is filled with upbeat songs that will have you dancing around. The album is a masterpiece and a great back to the industry for Ed.  My only complaint is that it took over a year for new Ed Sheeran music. We are glad to see him back in his element, in the studio, and now, on the road. March 8th he announced his North American tour with ticketing going on sale March 13th at 10 am local time (may vary by location).
