On day #1, the tall, lanky rhythm section of Face Value left the beautiful La Quinta Inn and ventured to Always Be Genius Studio in Crown Point, Indiana. They had no idea what to expect. Greeted by a 3-legged dog and her companions, Grayson and Jeremiah met the infamous, Seth Henderson (Knuckle Puck, Real Friends, Sleep On It, Devil Wears Prada, etc.). Trying not to “fanboy”, they hit things off and began tracking drums for the EP. That night they journeyed to Chicago to pick up lead singer, Alec Myers. He looked great. The pieces of the puzzle were coming together.

Drums were finished before they decided to embark on a day of shenanigans including visiting the Sand Dunes of Lake Michigan, stuffing themselves with deep dish pizza in Chicago, and gasping at the beauty of The Bean in Chicago’s lit Millennium Park. Lead guitarist, Parker Ross, flew in that day and the 4 musketeers were finally together again. The next 6 days were filled with hard work, long hours of tracking, plenty of booze and vegetables, laughs, and inappropriate jokes. Seth pushed the band more than they had ever been pushed. He was stern yet gentle, don’t worry.

After 10 days, it was time to say goodbye. With good times had and memories that will last a lifetime (much like a Disney movie), Face Value journeyed back to Maryland. They are now anxiously awaiting mixes and masters… much like a small child anxiously awaits Christmas morning; staying up all night, preparing milk and cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer, and finally going ape-shit while unwrapping presents…

Look out for their new EP this Fall!
